In a thrilling game of baseball, the Wilmington Wildcats dominated Coal City with a final score of 9-2 in an Illinois Central Eight Conference showdown on Wednesday. Zach Ohlund was the star of the game, going 2 for 3 with four RBIs and a run scored, leading his team to victory.

Ryan Kettman also had a solid performance, going 2 for 5 with two runs scored, while Kyle Farrell impressed on the mound, striking out nine batters through six innings.

In another exciting match-up, Lincoln-Way West secured a 10-4 win over Lockport in just six innings. Conor Essenburg was the standout player for West, striking out 11 batters in 4 2/3 innings pitched to secure the SouthWest Suburban Conference victory.

Essenburg also had a great day at the plate, going 3 for 5 with three RBIs. Ben Shea contributed with two RBIs, and Jacob Willis added a homerun to seal the win for Lincoln-Way West.

In other baseball action, Seneca defeated Streator 13-1 in just five innings, with Joshua Lucas, Nathan Neal, and Austin Aldridge each hitting a homerun. Aiden Vilcek and Cameron Shriey also had impressive performances, driving in runs and securing the win on the mound.
