Wamego Baseball on Fire with 11 Straight Wins; Rock Creek, Frankfort, and Wabaunsee Also Dominate in Recent Games
The Wamego baseball team is on fire, winning 11 straight games after a rough 0-3 start to the season. The Red Raiders showed their dominance in a make-up doubleheader against Royal Valley, coming out on top with 7-0 and 12-7 victories.
In the first game, Wamego took an early lead and never looked back. Kasen Hall pitched a gem, throwing five innings of two-hit baseball with three strikeouts. Cody Mayer led the offensive charge with a 3-for-4 performance and three RBI.
The second game saw Royal Valley put up a fight, but Wamego’s offense was too much to handle. Thomas McIntyre and Nate Gallager both had three-hit games, each contributing 2 RBI to the team’s success.
Next up for the Red Raiders is a matchup against Bishop Miege on Thursday, where they will look to extend their winning streak even further.
Meanwhile, Rock Creek baseball is also on a hot streak, matching Wamego’s success with a shutout sweep of Riley County. The Mustangs improved to 16-1 after dominating with 11-0 and 12-0 wins.
Ryker Zoeller and Brandon Krainbill were a dynamic duo on the mound, combining for a one-hit shutout in the first game. Zoeller earned the win with six strikeouts in three innings, while Krainbill closed out the game ahead of the mercy rule.
In the second game, Zoeller and Krainbill continued to shine, this time at the plate. The pair went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and four RBI. Mack Lee also had a stellar performance on the mound, pitching a complete game shutout with five strikeouts.
