University Baseball Dominates Platte Valley, Roosevelt Edges Out Northridge: Tuesday Recap
University senior Cole Croissant led the Bulldogs to a dominant 13-0 victory over Platte Valley in a recent baseball matchup. Croissant had a standout performance, contributing three RBI, a double, and a run on 1-for-3 hitting. The Bulldogs out-hit Platte Valley 13-3 and displayed a strong defensive performance with no errors, compared to four errors by the Broncos.
The University pitching duo of junior Will Korby and senior Jake Onderlinde combined to shut out Platte Valley, allowing only three hits while striking out 12 batters and walking five in seven innings. The Bulldogs improved their overall record to 16-2, with an impressive 8-1 record in Class 3A Patriot League play.
In another exciting baseball matchup, Roosevelt secured a 7-6 victory over Northridge after scoring three unanswered runs in the last two innings. Roosevelt’s sophomore Israel Castillo and senior Seppe Salvatore led the team with three hits and two RBI each. Salvatore was just a single shy of hitting for the cycle in the game.
