South Williamsport’s Noah Turner Dominates in 14-3 Victory Over Montgomery

In a thrilling high school baseball game on Monday afternoon, the South Williamsport Mounties delivered a dominant performance, defeating the previously undefeated Montgomery Red Raiders, 14-3. The game showcased stellar pitching from Noah Turner and an impressive offensive display from Caleb Neidig, who went 4 for 4 at the plate.

Despite falling behind 2-0 in the third inning, South Williamsport rallied back, scoring six runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. From there, they never looked back, scoring 11 straight runs at one point. Every player in the Mounties lineup contributed with at least one hit, showcasing their depth and teamwork.

Turner, the senior right-hander, threw a complete game, allowing just three hits and striking out eight batters. He settled in after a shaky first inning and kept Montgomery’s potent offense in check for the rest of the game. Neidig, on the other hand, was a force at the plate, reaching base five times and driving in a run.

South Williamsport’s head coach, Casey Waller, praised his team’s performance, highlighting their resilience and ability to bounce back after a slow start. The Mounties’ offense exploded in the later innings, scoring multiple runs in each of the last four innings to secure the victory.

With the win, South Williamsport improved to 9-4 on the season, while Montgomery suffered their first loss of the year, dropping to 14-1. Both teams remain focused on their goals for the season, with Montgomery looking ahead to a crucial matchup against Muncy.

Overall, it was a complete team effort from the Mounties, who showcased their talent and determination in a statement win over a previously unbeaten opponent. As they look towards the second half of the season, South Williamsport will aim to build on this momentum and continue their winning ways.
