Seven Antelope Valley Baseball Teams Qualify for CIF-Southern Section Playoffs
The excitement is building in the Antelope Valley as seven baseball teams have qualified for the CIF-Southern Section playoffs. The postseason brackets were released on Monday, revealing the teams that will be competing for a shot at the championship.
Leading the pack is Golden League champion Highland, with a record of 22-5. The Bulldogs will host Rio Mesa in a Division 4 first-round game on Thursday. Highland, who won their second consecutive league championship and third in program history, will be looking to make a deep run in the playoffs after falling in the first round last season.
Quartz Hill, ranked No. 6 in Division 2, will host Charter Oak in another first-round game on Thursday. Both teams advanced to the second round last year and will be aiming to go even further this time around.
Lancaster, Littlerock, Paraclete, Vasquez, and Desert Christian are also set to compete in the playoffs, each facing tough opponents in their respective divisions.
All playoff games are scheduled to start at 3:15 p.m., with the Southern Section playoffs expanding to eight divisions this postseason.
