AHSAA Baseball Playoffs Quarterfinal Round Scores Across the State
The third round of AHSAA baseball playoffs wrapped up this weekend with some exciting matchups across the state. Here are the scores from the quarterfinal round in all classifications:
In Class 1A, Sweet Water defeated South Lamar 16-2 and 19-9 to win the series 2-1. Florala also advanced by beating Brantley 6-2 and 2-0. Coosa Christian took down Appalachian 2-1 and 9-7 to win the series 2-0, while Sumiton Christian defeated Hackleburg 4-3 and 13-3 to advance.
Moving on to Class 2A, Bayshore Christian won a close series against Pike Liberal Arts 7-4, 7-10, and 6-3. Ariton also advanced by beating Reeltown 7-1 and 4-2. In the North, Mars Hill Bible split games with Vincent, setting up a decisive Game 3 on Saturday. Red Bay defeated Whitesburg Christian 0-2, 3-0, and 8-2 to win the series 2-1.
In Class 3A, Thomasville took down Opp 5-3 and 7-1 to advance, while Providence Christian defeated Prattville Christian 11-3 and 3-1. Lauderdale County beat Gordo 3-0 and 1-0, and Westbrook Christian won a hard-fought series against Fayette County 8-4, 4-9, and 9-9.
In Class 4A, Bibb County defeated Trinity Presbyterian 2-4, 1-0, and 6-3 to advance. American Christian also moved on by beating Oak Grove 5-1 and 16-0. Westminster Christian won a close series against North Jackson 10-13, 12-2, and 14-4, while Corner defeated Deshler 9-0 and 14-4.
