In a thrilling Suffolk VI baseball matchup on Saturday, Andrew Law showcased his pitching prowess by allowing just one run in 5 2/3 innings and striking out an impressive 14 batters to lead Sayville to a 10-4 victory over Hampton Bays. But Law didn’t stop there – he also made a significant impact at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs. Tyler Sebor and Gavin Acker also contributed to Sayville’s offensive onslaught, with Sebor going 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI, and Acker going 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs.
Meanwhile, in a Nassau AAA crossover game, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK secured a 12-6 win over Syosset, thanks to standout performances from Alex Reifer and Jake Gruttadauria. Reifer went 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs, while Gruttadauria went 3-for-5 with an RBI. Josh Kim also played a crucial role in the victory, striking out six batters in five innings of relief to earn the win for Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK.
In the world of softball, Syosset emerged victorious with a 15-9 win over Seaford, fueled by Sienna Renny’s impressive performance at the plate. Renny went 4-for-5 with six RBIs, including a three-run home run in the first inning. Long Beach also secured a win, defeating Baldwin 17-10, with Myla Sanchez leading the charge with a three-run homer in the first inning.
In girls lacrosse action, Islip edged out Shoreham-Wading River 7-6, with Carley Mullins scoring five goals for Islip. Massapequa also notched a win, defeating Longwood 12-7, with Savanna Appleton leading the charge with four goals and two assists.
On the boys lacrosse front, Kings Park dominated Hauppauge with a 16-8 victory, led by Jack Salva’s six goals. Commack also secured a win, defeating Lindenhurst 13-7, with James Pagano leading the way with four goals and two assists.
