High School Baseball Roundup: Cotter Wins Sixth Straight Game
Cotter’s baseball team continues its winning streak with a thrilling victory over Chatfield, while Rushford-Peterson and Onalaska Luther also secure important wins in their respective matchups.
The Ramblers showcased their offensive prowess with a balanced attack, as four players each contributed two hits to secure the 8-6 win over the Gophers. Senior Jack Spiten delivered a stellar pitching performance, striking out 10 batters in 6 and ⅔ innings.
Meanwhile, Rushford-Peterson held off a late comeback by Houston to secure a 10-9 victory on the road. The Trojans dominated early on, scoring seven runs in the third inning to take control of the game. Senior Evan Skalet led the offensive charge with a 2-for-3 performance, including two RBI and three runs scored.
Onalaska Luther also notched a convincing win, defeating G-E-T with a five-run second inning to secure a 10-4 victory. Junior Jackson Kendall had a standout performance, going 4 for 4 with two doubles, four RBIs, and one stolen base.
In softball action, the Ramblers maintained their unbeaten record in Three Rivers play with a shutout win over the Gophers. Senior Madison Hazelton delivered a dominant pitching performance, striking out 11 batters while allowing no walks.
