Chesaning Baseball Dominates New Lothrop in Doubleheader Sweep
Chesaning High School’s baseball team left no doubt in their dominance as they completed a sweep against New Lothrop on Monday. After earning a thrilling walk-off win in the opener, Chesaning continued their winning ways in the second game, securing a convincing victory.
In the first game, Adam Woodcock played the hero as he scored the winning run in the eighth inning, leading Chesaning to a 2-1 victory. Woodcock, who had a stellar performance with two hits, crossed home plate on a bases-loaded passed ball with nobody out. Nash Wendling and Brady Sager also contributed with two hits each. Sager’s pitching was exceptional, allowing just four hits in eight innings while striking out an impressive 17 batters.
The momentum carried into the second game, with Wendling taking the mound and guiding Chesaning to an 11-1 win in five innings. Wendling showcased his pitching prowess, surrendering only three hits and one unearned run. Sager, Wendling, and Blain Butcher all had two hits each in the game, contributing to the Indians’ 7-3 record.
