In a thrilling day of high school sports action, Carson’s baseball team, West’s softball team, Salisbury’s soccer team, and Salisbury’s golf team all came out victorious on Monday.
Carson’s baseball team secured a 5-1 victory against South Rowan in a South Piedmont Conference matchup. Pitcher Daxton Savage delivered a stellar performance, pitching a two-hitter while striking out 10 batters. Keegan Bargers played a key role in Carson’s offense, scoring three runs. Jayven Parks and TJ Harris also contributed RBIs to secure the win for Carson.
Over in Troutman, West Rowan’s softball team dominated South Iredell with a 10-1 victory. Emma Clarke’s three-run homer and Arabelle Shulenberger’s complete game on the mound propelled West Rowan to the win. Clarke scored three runs and drove in four, while Ella Doby and Reese Poole also had standout performances.
In high school soccer action, Salisbury’s girls’ team secured a 2-0 victory against West Rowan. Maddie Crabb was the standout player of the match, scoring both goals with assists from Liz Escobar and Stella Koontz. The team’s solid defense, led by Taylor Brown, ensured a clean sheet for Salisbury.
On the golf course, Salisbury continued its winning ways with a victory in the Central Carolina Conference match at Sapona. John McCoy led the Hornets with a score of 33, followed closely by Warren Fesperman with a score of 34.
