CAA Baseball Weekly Awards – April 15: Ludman, Knowles, and Paulsen Shine
In a week filled with outstanding performances, the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) has announced its baseball weekly awards for April 15. Delaware senior designated hitter Eric Ludman, William & Mary junior Nate Knowles, and Stony Brook freshman Erik Paulsen have been recognized for their exceptional contributions on the field.
Eric Ludman, hailing from Newark, Del., was named the CAA Baseball Player of the Week after an impressive display at the plate. Ludman batted a remarkable .500 with five home runs, a double, 11 RBIs, and 12 runs scored in Delaware’s 3-2 week. The senior’s standout performance included a record-tying three home runs in Sunday’s victory over Northeastern, solidifying his position as a key offensive force for the Blue Hens.
On the pitching front, William & Mary’s Nate Knowles earned the title of CAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week. The junior right-hander from Arlington, Va., went 2-0 for the week, allowing just two hits and one run over 8.0 innings while striking out 10 in two starts. Knowles showcased his dominance on the mound against top competition, including a stellar performance against #7 Duke where he held the Blue Devils to just two hits and a run.
Stony Brook’s Erik Paulsen rounded out the weekly awards as the CAA Baseball Rookie of the Week. The freshman from Massapequa, N.Y., made significant contributions both at the plate and on the mound in Stony Brook’s 3-1 week. Paulsen batted an impressive .412 with a home run, two runs scored, and two RBIs, while also notching his fourth save of the season with a strong outing against Campbell.
