West Virginia University Athletics Announces Partnership with North Central West Virginia Airport

West Virginia University Athletics has announced a groundbreaking partnership with the North Central West Virginia Airport (CKB), naming the airport as “The Official Airport of WVU Athletics.” This collaboration, facilitated through Learfield’s Mountaineer Sports Properties, is set to last through 2027.

“We are pleased to welcome the North Central West Virginia Airport to our team as the Official Airport of WVU Athletics,” said Wren Baker, West Virginia University Vice President and Director of Athletics. “The airport has a proven commitment to providing safe and reliable air travel, and with the future completion of its new terminal, the services provided will become even more important for our state. Our department looks forward to continuing the great relationship we have built with the staff there.”

The North Central West Virginia Airport, operated by the Benedum Airport Authority, serves as a vital transportation hub for West Virginia, connecting communities across the region. With services from two commercial airlines – Allegiant Air and Contour Airlines – CKB offers travelers convenient access to both domestic and worldwide destinations through the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) hub as well as numerous nonstop destinations.
