Exclusive Interview with Racewalking Star Priyanka Goswami: Journey, Challenges, and Paris 2024 Goals
Priyanka Goswami, the rising star in the world of racewalking, has been making waves with her impressive performances on the international stage. The Indian athlete recently made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a Commonwealth Games medal in racewalking, clinching a silver in the 10,000m Racewalk event at Birmingham 2022.
Goswami’s journey to success has been nothing short of inspiring. After finishing 17th at the Tokyo Olympics in the Women’s 20km Racewalk, she went on to secure a Paris 2024 quota by achieving the qualification mark at the Indian Open National Racewalking Championship in Ranchi in 2023.
Most recently, at the World Athletics Racewalking Team Championships in Antalya, Turkey, Goswami, along with her partner Akashdeep Singh, put up a stellar performance in the 20km mixed relay event. The duo finished 18th and clocked a personal best of 3:05:03, earning themselves a spot at the Olympics.
