Over the past few weeks, Midrand Montessori High School has been buzzing with excitement and activity as its talented athletes showcased their skills and determination at the highly anticipated Inter-high Athletics Sports Day on March 15.
The event was nothing short of extraordinary, with several long-standing records being shattered by the school’s exceptional athletes. Among the standout performers were Amukelani Mokgope, Njume Kraai, and Oreneile Machete, who left the crowd in awe with their remarkable performances.
Amukelani, who had previously set a high jump record in the U15 boys category, outdid himself by setting a new school record in the process. Meanwhile, Njume displayed unwavering dedication and effort, clinching victory in the U15 boys’ shot put category and setting a new school record previously held by Amukelani.
In the U15 girls’ shot put category, Oreneile Machete showcased remarkable strength and determination, emerging victorious and setting a new school record previously held by Lyra de Jong.
