20 Record Breakers Shine at Australian Little Athletics Championships: Watch Replays Here
The Australian Little Athletics Championships recently took place at the SA Athletics Stadium in Adelaide, where a total of 19 meet records were shattered by some of the nation’s most promising young track and field athletes. Among them were three pending Australian little athletic records that were broken, showcasing the incredible talent and potential of these young stars.
One standout performer was Jacob Copp from New South Wales, who blazed down the track in the under-13 100m dash in a blistering time of 11.43 seconds, setting a pending Australian Best Performance. Another impressive athlete was Jalyn South from Queensland, who dominated the under-15 javelin event with a jaw-dropping throw of 47.65m, also setting a pending Australian Best Performance.
Addison Farinazzo from Queensland also made her mark by setting a pending Australian record in the under-15 300m hurdles with a lightning-fast time of 43.69. These young athletes have shown incredible dedication and talent in their respective events, setting new standards for the future of Australian athletics.
Other notable record breakers included Callum Martin, Alexander Braendle, Taya Clayton, Sophie Polkinghorne, Llywelyn Schoenborn, Jake Hambrook-Smith, Darcy Coote, Darcy Parker, Harry Keats, Chloe Taylor, Kevin De Silva, Lachlan Wheeler, Allegra Little, Ruby Hazell, Annisha Reader, Jade Strahl, and Makayla Moller, all of whom displayed exceptional skill and determination in their performances.
The CEO of Coles Little Athletics Australia, Myles Foreman, emphasized the importance of inclusivity in the sport, stating that the national competition’s focus was on “family fun and fitness.” With a record number of athletes participating this year, the championships provided a platform for young athletes of all abilities to showcase their talents and pursue personal bests in a supportive and inclusive environment.
