The Stawell Gift finals day was hit with unexpected rain, casting doubt over the men’s and women’s main events. Despite the weather, Australian Olympic finalist Peter Bol put on an impressive performance, finishing second in the adidas Men’s Invitational from scratch mark, just behind winner Riley Bruce.

The Sporting News has released the winners of the main event races at the Stawell Gift 2024. In the adidas Invitational Handicap – 1000m, Riley Bruce claimed the top spot, with Peter Bol coming in second from scratch. The Change Our Game Women’s Gift saw Chloe Mannix-Power take first place, followed by Chloe Kinnersly and Jemma Pollard.

However, the Powercor Stawell Gift main event was delayed due to the rain, leaving the results up in the air. The scheduled winners for the event include Jack Lacey, Jake Ireland, and Endale Mekonnen.

The Stawell Gift event, held over Easter Weekend from Saturday, March 30 to Monday, April 1, is a highly anticipated event in the sporting calendar. The main events for men and women are set to take place on Monday, with the Women’s Gift starting at 1:45pm and the Stawell Gift at 2:20pm.

For those unable to attend the event in person, the Stawell Gift will be broadcast live and free on the Seven network, including 7+. The program will feature the semi-finals and finals of the main events, along with invitational races and finals.

Despite the weather challenges, the Stawell Gift continues to be a highlight for athletes and spectators alike, offering a thrilling display of talent and determination.
