Indian Teams Get Another Chance to Secure Paris Olympics Tickets
The Indian track and field teams had a rollercoaster of emotions at the World Athletics Relays in Nassau, Bahamas, as all three relay teams – men’s 4x400m, women’s 4x400m, and mixed 4x400m – had their Paris Olympics dreams hanging in the balance.
The men’s 4x400m team faced a setback when second leg runner Rajesh Ramesh had to pull out of the race due to an injury, causing the team to not finish their heat race. This unfortunate turn of events left the team with another chance to secure their ticket to the Paris Olympics during the round two of qualifications on Monday.
Similarly, the women’s 4x400m and mixed 4x400m teams also fell short in their respective races on the first day of qualifications, adding to the pressure for Monday’s round two. The Indian athletes will have to give it their all to secure a top-two finish in their heats to earn a spot in the Paris Games.
Despite the setbacks, the Indian relay teams have shown their potential in the past, with the men’s 4x400m team setting an Asian record at the 2023 Budapest World Championships. With their eyes set on redemption after a disappointing performance at the Tokyo Olympics, the Indian athletes are determined to make their mark at the Paris Olympics.
As the teams gear up for another shot at Olympic qualification, fans are eagerly awaiting to see if the Indian relay teams can rise to the occasion and secure their spots in the prestigious event. Stay tuned for more updates on this thrilling journey towards the Paris Olympics.
