Priyanka Goswami to Represent India in World Athletics Race Walking Team Championship

Indian athlete Priyanka Goswami is all set to represent her country at the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championship in Turkiye. The event, which will feature the men’s and women’s 20 km race walk and marathon race walk mixed relay, will see Priyanka competing in the mixed relay event alongside Akshdeep Singh.

The marathon race walk mixed relay is a new addition to the Paris Olympics 2024, and this championship will be the first major competition to feature this event. The relay format will require teams to cover the full marathon distance of 42.195 km, with one male and one female athlete in each team.

Priyanka has already met the Paris Olympic Qualifying Standard in the women’s 20 km race walk, showcasing her talent and determination. Alongside her, a strong contingent of Indian athletes, including Akshdeep Singh, Vikash Singh, Paramjeet Singh, and others, will be competing in the various race walk events at the championship.

This event will provide the Indian athletes with an opportunity to further hone their skills and potentially meet the Olympic entry standards for Paris 2024. With a maximum of three athletes per event allowed from each country, the competition in Antalya will be crucial for the Indian contingent.
