Brainerd Warriors Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees for 2024 Announced
Five new members will be inducted into the Brainerd Warriors Athletic Hall of Fame at the upcoming Brainerd All-Sports Banquet on April 29. The 2024 inductees include athletes Joe Haeg, Josh Archibald, and Katy Etterman, as well as swimming and diving coaches John Zemke and Dan Anderson.
Josh Archibald, a Brainerd High School graduate, made headlines when he hoisted the Stanley Cup after the Pittsburgh Penguins won the NHL Championship in 2016. Joe Haeg, another Brainerd High School graduate and former NFL player, was recently spotted at the Nisswa Turtle Races.
This year’s All-Sports Banquet will see some significant changes, with the event being held at the Gichi-Ziibi Center for the Arts. There will be no meal served before the festivities, but a hall of fame reception will kick off the evening at 5:30 p.m. Activities director Jack Freeman mentioned that the formal program will start at 6:30 p.m., following a social for student-athletes, families, and coaches.
The Gichi-Ziibi Center offers more seating than the Brainerd High School Gymnasium, but tickets are still required for entry. Tickets are free and can be obtained through the activities office or an online ticket link that will be shared later.
Freeman expressed his excitement about showcasing student-athletes and programs in a first-class manner at the new venue. The Brainerd All-Sports Banquet has been a special event in the community for decades, and this year’s induction of new members promises to be a memorable occasion.
