India shines at Asian U20 Athletics Championships with 13 medals in first two days

India has started off strong at the Asian U20 Athletics Championships in Dubai, clinching an impressive 13 medals, including five gold, in the first two days of the competition. The young athletics talents from the country have showcased their skills and determination on the international stage.

Leading the charge for India was Deepanshu Sharma, who secured the first gold medal for the nation with a remarkable 70.29m throw in the men’s javelin event. His compatriot Rohan Yadav also put up a stellar performance, earning a silver medal with a throw of 70.03m, highlighting India’s dominance in the field events.

In addition to the gold and silver medals in the javelin event, India also saw success in the men’s discus throw and the 1500m finals, with Ritik Rathee and Priyanshu clinching silver medals, respectively. The Indian contingent, consisting of 60 athletes, is determined to continue their winning streak in the upcoming days of the championships.

On the second day of the competition, India added nine more medals to their tally, with standout performances from athletes like Anurag Singh Kaler, Siddharth Choudhary, Vinod Singh, and Pavana Nagaraj. The team’s strong showing bodes well for their prospects in the remaining events of the championships.

With a total of 13 medals in the bag, India is setting the stage for a successful campaign at the Asian U20 Athletics Championships. The athletes are not only aiming for personal glory but also eyeing qualification for the World U20 Championships in Lima, Peru later this year. The nation’s sports enthusiasts are eagerly following the progress of the Indian contingent and are hopeful for more medal-winning performances in the days to come.
