Kansas State University Wildcats to Open 2025 College Football Season in Aer Lingus College Football Classic
The Kansas State University Wildcats are gearing up for an exciting start to the 2025 College Football season as they prepare to face off against the Iowa State Cyclones in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic. The highly anticipated matchup is set to take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the iconic Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.
This historic game will mark the first ever Big 12 matchup to be held in Ireland and will be the 10th college football game ever played in Dublin. The Wildcats and Cyclones have previously met in two neutral-site matchups, with the Wildcats emerging victorious in both the 2009 and 2010 meetings at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
“We are delighted to be in a position to welcome K-State and Iowa State to Ireland next year,” said Padraic O’Kane, Co-Founder and Director of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic. “As the European Home of College Football, the 2025 game will mark the fourth edition of this fantastic series. Our aim is to make these games a permanent fixture in the US college football and Irish Tourism and Sporting Calendars.”
K-State head coach Chris Klieman expressed his excitement about the opportunity to participate in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, stating, “Our players and staff are excited to expose our program to a global audience, and the cultural experience will also be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all of Wildcat Nation.”
With Aer Lingus serving as the title sponsor, the teams and their delegations will be transported to Dublin on dedicated chartered flights.
