Darren Ikinnagbon Commits to Georgia Bulldogs After G-Day Visit
Darren Ikinnagbon, a highly touted four-star edge rusher from Hillside, New Jersey, made a big splash in the college football recruiting world by committing to the Georgia Bulldogs after attending their spring game in Athens. The 6-foot-5, 251-pound prospect chose Georgia over powerhouse programs like Ohio State and Notre Dame, solidifying his commitment with a social media post declaring his 1100% commitment to the Bulldogs.
Ikinnagbon, ranked as the 157th-best player in the country and the third-best prospect from New Jersey, is known for his explosive first step and strong nose for the football. Last season, he recorded impressive stats with 52 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and five sacks, showcasing his ability to make plays in both the run and pass game.
While primarily a pass rusher, Ikinnagbon may transition to outside linebacker at Georgia, where he will have the opportunity to showcase his athleticism and develop his pass-rush moves under the guidance of the coaching staff. Georgia’s outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe played a key role in recruiting Ikinnagbon and sees potential for him to excel at multiple positions on the defensive side of the ball.
Ikinnagbon’s commitment adds depth to Georgia’s 13th-ranked recruiting class, making him the third defensive player to join the Bulldogs’ 2025 recruiting haul. With his size, length, and athleticism, Ikinnagbon has the potential to become a key contributor for Georgia as they continue to build a strong defensive unit for the future. Stay tuned for more updates on Ikinnagbon’s journey with the Bulldogs as he looks to make a name for himself in the SEC.
