FOX Sports Unveils Innovative Technology for Inaugural UFL Season Kickoff

FOX Sports has unveiled some of the cutting-edge technology that will be used in the inaugural UFL season, set to kick off on Saturday, March 30. Following the merger of the USFL and XFL in December 2023, the first-ever UFL season promises to be a thrilling display of innovation and talent.

The opening game will feature the reigning USFL champions, the Birmingham Stallions, facing off against the reigning XFL champions, the Arlington Renegades. The game is scheduled for a 1pm ET kick-off on Fox, with an array of high-tech equipment set to enhance the viewing experience at Choctaw Stadium.

Among the innovative technology to be used are an in-action Bumblebee drone, helmet cameras, referee hat cameras, pylon cameras, SkyCam, and a high-resolution handheld camera nicknamed ‘Megalodon.’ The broadcast will be led by announcers Curt Menefee and Joel Klatt, with former NFL quarterback Brock Huard reporting from the sidelines.

The Arlington Renegades, led by XFL Championship Game MVP quarterback Luis Perez, will look to defend their title against a formidable Birmingham Stallions team featuring former NFL stars like Matt Corral, Jace Sternberger, and Amari Rodgers. Both teams are coached by legendary figures in the football world, Bob Stoops and Skip Holtz.

Following the weekend’s opener, fans can look forward to more exciting matchups, including the Michigan Panthers hosting the St. Louis Battlehawks and the D.C. Defenders facing off against the San Antonio Brahmas. With Hollywood and WWE legend Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as a part owner and figurehead for the league, the UFL promises to deliver a unique and thrilling football experience for fans across the country.
