Florida Gators Football Program Adds Enoch Wangoy to 2024 Signing Class via Reclassification
The Florida Gators football program is making waves once again as they continue to add to their 2024 signing class with the reclassification of offensive line commit Enoch Wangoy from the Class of 2025. Wangoy, who originally committed on March 9, will now join the program in May, as announced by UF via a social media post on Monday.
In the announcement, Wangoy expressed his commitment to giving his all on the field, embracing challenges as opportunities for growth. Standing at an impressive 6-foot-8 with a seven-foot wingspan and weighing 314 pounds, Wangoy brings both size and skill to the offensive line room. Rated as a three-star offensive tackle prospect by 247Sports, Wangoy’s addition adds depth and talent to the Gators’ roster.
Wangoy’s journey to Florida is a unique one, as the Manchester, England native only started playing American football in 2023 after moving to the United States at the age of 16. Despite his limited experience, Wangoy made a significant impact in his first season, recording 19 tackles, two sacks, and three blocked kicks while playing on both the offensive and defensive line for Jacksonville’s Zarephath Academy.
Joining freshman Noel Portnjagin from Germany, Wangoy becomes the second European offensive line enrollee on the Florida football program. The Gators’ 2024 offensive line class is further bolstered by early enrollees Fletcher Westphal and Mike Williams, summer enrollee Marcus Mascoll, and transfer additions Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson and Devon Manuel.
With Wangoy’s addition, the Gators are poised to have a strong offensive line unit for the upcoming seasons, showcasing a mix of talent, size, and international flair. Fans can look forward to seeing Wangoy and his fellow linemen in action as they continue to build towards success on the field.
