High School Sports Recap: Wins for Platte Valley, Northridge, Windsor, and Roosevelt
Platte Valley, Northridge, Windsor, and Roosevelt all secured impressive victories in Tuesday’s baseball action, showcasing their dominance on the field.
Platte Valley continued its winning streak with a commanding 12-2 victory over Highland. The Broncos out-hit their opponents 12-4 and capitalized on six Highland errors. Junior Hudson Flummerfelt, senior Derek Kissler, and senior Howdy Johnson led the offensive charge with two hits and two RBI each. Johnson also shined on the mound, pitching a stellar game and striking out 13 batters.
Northridge also had a successful day, sweeping a doubleheader against Fort Morgan with scores of 7-6 and 12-2. The Grizzlies have now won four consecutive games and are on a midseason surge, improving their overall record to 5-9.
Windsor showcased their dominance with a 12-2 victory over Centaurus in just five innings. The Wizards out-hit their opponents 12-2, with juniors Izaak Haro and Tripp Thomas leading the offensive charge with three RBI each. Sophomore David Miller also had a strong performance on the mound, allowing only one earned run on one hit.
Roosevelt rounded out the day with a doubleheader sweep against Mountain View, winning 8-4 and 16-7. Sophomore Mason Sauer and senior Jase Guntle were standout performers, leading the Rough Riders to victory.
