Yannik Paul and Sebastian Soderberg Lead Betting for ISPS Handa Championship

Two potential stars from Japan are towards the head of the betting for the ISPS Handa Championship, but Ben Coley fancies another at much bigger odds. The DP World Tour is back in action following one of its mini-breaks, which was extended by a week when the Korea Championship was sponsored by Genesis and moved to a late-October spot, seemingly now the place players hoping to keep their cards will have to go in order to do so.

For now, the focus is on the ISPS Handa Championship in Japan, where two young Japanese talents, Keita Nakajima and Takumi Kanaya, are among the favorites. Nakajima’s recent victory in the Indian Open has put him in the spotlight, while Kanaya has a strong record at the Taiheiyo Club’s Gotemba Course.

However, amidst the hype surrounding Nakajima and Kanaya, another Japanese player, Yuta Sugiura, is catching the eye of golf betting enthusiasts. Sugiura, who has shown great potential and already achieved significant success on the Japan Golf Tour, is being backed at long odds of 300/1.

Sugiura’s victory in the Dunlop Phoenix Challenge and Dunlop Phoenix itself last year, where he outperformed top players like Hideki Matsuyama and Brooks Koepka, has put him on the radar as a player to watch. His strong start to the year, including a top-ten finish in New Zealand, further solidifies his credentials as a rising star in the golfing world.

Another outsider worth considering is Ren Yonezawa, who has shown promise despite some recent struggles. Yonezawa’s past performances on the Gotemba Course as an amateur, where he displayed strong ball-striking skills, make him a compelling choice at odds of 400/1.

In a field where many top players have been absent for a while, the ISPS Handa Championship presents an opportunity for local talents like Sugiura and Yonezawa to shine. With their potential and past achievements, they are worth a bet at long odds for those looking to capitalize on underdog success stories in the world of golf.
