High School Baseball Roundup: Indiana Falls to North Catholic Again, Homer-Center and Marion Center Secure Wins
In a thrilling day of baseball action, Indiana faced off against North Catholic for the second consecutive day, but unfortunately fell short once again with a score of 3-2. Despite a valiant effort to tie the game in the fourth inning, North Catholic managed to push across a crucial run to secure the win. Mark Collinger stood out with two hits for Indiana, while Ben Ryan and Charlie Manzi both contributed doubles. Trevor Smith and Ethan Shank were responsible for driving in the Indiana runs, but it was Tommy Koroly’s homer for North Catholic that ultimately made the difference.
Meanwhile, Homer-Center showcased their offensive prowess with a 7-2 victory over Penns Manor. Owen Saiani and Caleb Smith played key roles in the win, with Saiani doubling home a run and Smith’s sacrifice fly bringing in another. In track and field, a quad meet at United featured standout performances from Homer-Center, Northern Cambria, and Cambria Heights athletes.
