Novak Djokovic Considering Coaching Options and Return to Rome After Skipping Madrid Open

Novak Djokovic, the tennis legend, has been making headlines not only for his on-court performances but also for his recent coaching changes. After parting ways with Goran Ivanisevic earlier this year, Djokovic has been on the lookout for a new coach to guide him through the remainder of the season.

The 36-year-old Serb has been experimenting with his country’s former Davis Cup captain Nenad Zimonjić, with whom he teamed up at the recent Monte Carlo Masters. Despite not achieving the desired results at the tournament, Djokovic seems to be considering Zimonjić as a potential full-time coach.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Djokovic revealed at the Laureus World Sports Awards that he is also contemplating the idea of going without a coach altogether. The tennis star expressed that he is in a stage of his career where he can afford to make such a decision and is taking his time to weigh the pros and cons of having a coach.

Djokovic, who recently won his fifth Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award, confirmed that he will be skipping the Madrid Open to rest his body ahead of the French Open title defense. The Serb, who has won the Madrid Open three times in the past, will be focusing on preparing for the upcoming clay court season, with his next tournament scheduled to be the Rome Masters next month.

As Djokovic continues to navigate through this transitional phase in his career, fans are eagerly awaiting his decision on whether he will opt for a new coach, stick with Zimonjić, or take on the challenge of coaching himself. With his unparalleled talent and determination, Djokovic remains a force to be reckoned with on the tennis court, regardless of who stands by his side as a coach.
