Stevenage interim boss Alex Revell aims to finish season “on a high”
Stevenage interim boss Alex Revell is determined to finish the season on a high note, despite missing out on the League One play-offs. Revell, who took over after Steve Evans departed last week, wants his team to show their fighting spirit in their final game of the campaign.
In his first game in charge, Stevenage drew 1-1 against Oxford United, ending their hopes of a top six finish. Despite the disappointment, Revell was proud of his team’s performance and their ability to come together in difficult times.
“We have shown what we are as a club. When something happens, we just come together, knuckle down, and deliver,” Revell said in an interview with BBC Three Counties Radio.
Having spent most of the season in the top six, Stevenage slipped out of the play-off places in mid-March after consecutive defeats. However, Revell remains optimistic about the team’s future and is focused on ending the season with a positive result.
“We want to finish the season on a high. It’s all about momentum,” Revell emphasized. “You’ve always got something to play for, your own performance, your family, the fans, everything. We have to make sure we do everything right.”
Stevenage will face Cheltenham in their final game of the season, and Revell is determined to see his team give their all on the pitch. Despite the challenges they have faced, Revell believes in the strength and unity of the club and is confident that they can end the season on a positive note.
