Elena Rybakina Motivated to Get Driving Licence After Winning Porsche Tennis Grand Prix
Elena Rybakina’s recent victory at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix not only earned her a hefty sum of £100,000 but also a brand new car worth £162,000. However, there’s just one small hitch – the 24-year-old tennis star doesn’t have her driving licence yet.
After stunning the world No. 1 Iga Swiatek in the semi-finals and eventually triumphing over Marta Kostyuk in the final, Rybakina admitted in her on-court interview that she has yet to earn her driving licence. Despite having a few lessons in the past, she has never had the chance to be in one place long enough to complete the process.
However, winning a luxurious Porsche Taycan 4S Sport Turismo as part of her prize package may just be the motivation Rybakina needs to finally get her licence. She expressed her excitement at the prospect of learning to drive and ensuring her new ride gets home safely.
Rybakina’s victory in Stuttgart also solidified her position as the world No. 4 in the WTA rankings, with only Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka, and Swiatek ahead of her. With her sights set on the upcoming French Open, where she achieved a career-best quarter-final finish in 2021, Rybakina is determined to continue her winning streak both on and off the court.
As she sets her sights on Wimbledon 2024, fans are eagerly anticipating Rybakina’s next moves both in tennis and behind the wheel.
