“Boris Becker Hopes to Return to Wimbledon in 2025 After Deportation from UK in 2022”

Boris Becker, the former tennis champion, is determined to make a comeback to Wimbledon in 2025 after being deported from the UK in 2022. The German player, who won Wimbledon three times in 1985, 1986, and 1989, was involved in a bankruptcy fraud case where he hid £2.5m of assets and loans, leading to a prison sentence.

Becker, now 56, served eight months of his two-and-a-half-year sentence at Wandsworth prison and is currently unable to return to the UK until October 2024. Despite the setback, he is working diligently with the authorities to ensure his return to Wimbledon, a tournament he describes as being “in my DNA.”

Speaking at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid, Becker expressed his love for Wimbledon, stating, “It’s unique, you can’t compare it.” He emphasized the importance of the tournament in his life, having lived in Wimbledon for a significant period.

Although Becker has been out of the tennis scene since stepping down as Holger Rune’s coach, he remains passionate about the sport and hopes to return to Wimbledon not only as a player but also as a commentator. With his rich history at the prestigious tournament, including being the youngest men’s singles champion at Wimbledon in 1985, Becker’s comeback in 2025 would undoubtedly be a significant moment for tennis fans worldwide.

As Becker continues to work towards his goal of returning to Wimbledon, tennis enthusiasts can catch all the action leading up to the French Open on Sky Sports, with coverage of various tournaments across the clay-court season. With over 4,000 matches from more than 80 tournaments a year, Sky Sports remains the go-to destination for live tennis coverage.
