Cricket Legends Ganguly and Ponting Back Rishabh Pant for T20 World Cup Selection

NEW DELHI: Rishabh Pant, the dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman of the Indian cricket team, has received strong backing from legends Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting to be included in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in June. Pant, who recently made a remarkable comeback to the Indian Premier League after a horrific car accident, has impressed with his performances for the Delhi Capitals.

After missing 14 months of professional cricket due to the accident, Pant has shown great resilience and determination to lead his team from the front in the T20 league. With two half-centuries and 254 runs in eight games, the 26-year-old has caught the attention of cricketing stalwarts like Ganguly and Ponting.

Ganguly, who is Delhi’s Director of Cricket, expressed his confidence in Pant’s abilities, stating that the left-handed batsman deserves a spot in the T20 World Cup squad. Ponting, the head coach of Delhi, echoed similar sentiments, praising Pant’s improved batting skills and wicketkeeping abilities.

Despite the challenges he faced after the car accident, Pant has shown immense courage and dedication to make a strong comeback to the cricketing arena. His performance in the IPL has been a testament to his talent and determination, and both Ganguly and Ponting believe that he can make a significant impact for India in the T20 World Cup.

With the tournament set to kick off on June 1 in the United States and the West Indies, all eyes will be on Pant as he looks to continue his impressive form and secure his place in the Indian squad. The cricketing world is eagerly awaiting the return of this young and talented player, who has already made a mark with his aggressive batting style and exceptional skills behind the stumps.
