Exciting Updates Coming to EA Sports’ F1 24 Game – Improved Handling, Aero, and More!

EA Sports is gearing up to release its highly anticipated Formula 1 game, F1 24, on May 31, and fans are in for a treat with a host of exciting new features. One of the major focuses for this year’s installment is handling, with upgrades to the Dynamic Handling system that go beyond just the tire model.

According to Senior Game Designer and Vehicle Handling Lead Casey Ringley, the physics in F1 24 will now more accurately represent dynamic changes in camber, toe angle, roll centers, and more. This attention to detail makes the cars more predictable and intuitive to drive, providing a more realistic experience for players.

Tires in the game will receive more realistic slip curves and contact patch loading, impacting both feel and tire wear over the course of a session. The improved wet-weather physics aim to make the cars less snappy on slippery surfaces, enhancing the overall driving experience.

On the aero side, Codemasters has used computational fluid dynamics data to better replicate the effect of slipstream and DRS usage. The new DRS behavior will vary depending on the aero profile of each team’s car, adding another layer of strategy to gameplay.

Players will also have the ability to adjust engine braking and all Energy Recovery System mappings in all sessions, giving them more control over their race strategy. These changes promise to deliver a comprehensive improvement to the physics of the game, building on the success of previous releases.
