In her role, Dickens educates student-athletes and coaching staff on proper nutrition, hydration, and fueling strategies tailored to their training, competition, and travel schedules. She also caters to individual needs, including medical and religious restrictions, such as those observing Ramadan. Dickens ensures that student-athletes with specific dietary requirements have options available at fueling stations to meet their needs while respecting their preferences.
Additionally, Dickens conducts body composition and hydration testing, collaborates with athletic trainers and sports performance coaches to address any nutritional deficiencies, and oversees the internship program within the department.
