Ali Carter is focused on his bid for World Snooker Championship glory as he insists his feud with Ronnie O’Sullivan is a thing of the past. The 44-year-old will face Stephen Maguire in the first round of the tournament today, with hopes of lifting the prestigious trophy.

The Captain clashed with O’Sullivan earlier this year, accusing him of unsportsmanlike behavior during their Masters final. However, Carter has now moved on from the feud, labeling it as ‘heat of the moment’ stuff.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Carter stated, “I won’t lose any sleep over what was said. It was heat of the moment stuff. We move forward and look forward to the battle in Sheffield hopefully.”

With both men on opposite sides of the draw, they can only meet in the final of the competition. O’Sullivan, a seven-time World Snooker Championship winner, is the favorite to clinch the title once again.

As O’Sullivan prepares for his return to action, he believes he still has five to ten years left in the tank to continue breaking records and etching his name into the history books.

The Rocket will face Jackson Page in his first-round clash on Wednesday, with the relatively new player aiming to cause an upset after recently making the semi-finals of the World Open.
