Cal Women’s Gymnastics Finishes Second in NCAA Championships, LSU Claims First National Title
Cal posted its best finish ever in the NCAA women’s gymnastics championships, securing second place in the finals in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday. The Bears narrowly missed out on the top spot, finishing just 0.425 points behind LSU, who claimed their first women’s gymnastics national title.
In a thrilling competition, Cal’s final three performers on the uneven bars – eMjae Frazier, Gabby Perea, and Maddie Williams – all scored 9.90 or better, propelling the Golden Bears past Utah and into second place. Utah, who had led entering the final rotation, had to settle for third place, with Florida finishing in fourth.

2. Cal – 197.8500
3. Utah – 197.8000
4. Florida – 197.3375
Cal showcased their strength and determination throughout the competition. Starting off on the beam, they held the second spot behind LSU. Moving on to the floor exercise, Cal was in third place at the halfway mark. Their performance on the vault kept them in contention, heading into the final rotation in third place.
