LSU Tigers Win First-Ever Gymnastics National Title with Olivia Dunne Leading the Way
Olivia Dunne can now proudly add “national champion” to her already impressive resume as she led the LSU Tigers to their first-ever gymnastics national title. The Tigers scored a remarkable 198.2250 to clinch the crown in a closely contested competition that had fans on the edge of their seats.
In a nail-biting finish, LSU narrowly edged out California, who finished in second place with an overall score of 197.8500. Utah claimed the third spot on the podium, with Florida rounding out the top four teams in the competition.
After the win, Dunne took to her Instagram Story to express her excitement, writing, “Best day ever!” The social media and name, image, and likeness (NIL) star has been a standout performer for the Tigers throughout the season, and her leadership was crucial in securing the national title.
Haleigh Bryant, who had been a standout performer for LSU in the Final Four, once again delivered an outstanding performance, scoring a remarkable 39.7125 in the all-around competition on Saturday. Additionally, Aleah Finnegan shined on the floor exercise, earning a top score of 9.9625.
