Bristol Bears Thrash Newcastle in Record-Breaking Victory

Bristol Bears put on a dominant display as they thrashed winless Newcastle 85-14 in a one-sided affair at Ashton Gate. The Bears scored an impressive 13 tries in the match, with Harry Randall, Benhard Janse van Rensburg, and Virimi Vakatawa each scoring twice.

The Bears came out flying, scoring four tries in the first 15 minutes to set the tempo for the rest of the match. Siva Naulago, Lock Dun, Max Malins, and Magnus Bradbury all crossed the try line early on, showcasing Bristol’s attacking prowess.

Despite a brief reply from Newcastle through Adam Radwan and Brett Connon, Bristol continued to dominate the game, adding six more tries in the second half. The win sees Bristol move up to fourth place in the Premiership standings, just one point behind third-placed Saracens.

Bristol’s director of rugby, Pat Lam, praised his team’s performance, highlighting their intensity and commitment on the field. Lam expressed his pride in the players and their ability to execute the game plan effectively.

On the other hand, Newcastle’s consultant director of rugby, Steve Diamond, acknowledged his team’s poor performance and vowed to make changes ahead of their next match against Sale. Diamond emphasized the need for improvement and a positive response from his players in the upcoming games.

Overall, Bristol’s record-breaking victory against Newcastle solidifies their position in the playoff places and sends a strong message to their rivals in the Premiership. With just three games remaining in the season, the Bears will look to build on this impressive win and continue their push for a top-four finish.
