Hockey India announces 28-member core probable group for senior men’s national coaching camp

Hockey India has set the stage for the senior men’s national coaching camp, with a 28-member core probable group being announced for the upcoming training session in Bengaluru. The camp, scheduled from April 21 to May 13 at the SAI Centre, holds immense significance as India gears up for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Following a successful five-match Test series in Australia, the team is now focused on fine-tuning their preparations for the upcoming challenges. The next two legs of the FIH Hockey Pro League 2023/24 will see India facing off against tough opponents like Argentina, Belgium, Germany, and Great Britain in Belgium and London.

The core group for the National Coaching Camp includes a mix of experienced players and promising young talent. The goalkeepers in the squad are Krishan Bahadur Pathak, PR Sreejesh, Suraj Karkera, while defenders like Harmanpreet Singh, Jarmanpreet Singh, and midfielders such as Manpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, and Vivek Sagar Prasad are also part of the group.

The forward line boasts the likes of Akashdeep Singh, Mandeep Singh, and Dilpreet Singh, among others. Indian Men’s Hockey Team Chief Coach Craig Fulton emphasized the importance of the upcoming camp, stating the need to be in peak condition ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Fulton expressed confidence in the team’s ability to address their weaknesses and make necessary improvements during the training camp. With a blend of experience and youth, the Indian team is gearing up for a challenging yet promising journey towards the Paris Olympics.
