Indonesian Rowing Team Prepares for Final Qualification for 2024 Paris Olympics
The Indonesian rowing team is gearing up for the final qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics, set to take place in Luzern, Switzerland from May 19-21. With high hopes and determination, the team is ready to face the tough competition ahead.
Team spokesperson Okhan Adris emphasized the challenges that lie ahead in the final qualification, as all countries participating have yet to secure their spots for the Olympics. Despite the tough competition, Indonesian rowing athlete La Memo managed to secure a place at the 2024 Paris Olympics during the World Rowing Asian & Oceanian Olympic and Paralympic Qualification Regatta in Chungju, South Korea.
The Indonesian rowing team has been putting in the hard work and dedication, conducting training camps in Chungju, South Korea since April 4. With the final qualification approaching, the team is implementing various strategies to ensure the best possible results.
Okhan revealed that the initial team will depart for the Netherlands on April 22 for training until May 15, before heading to Switzerland for the final qualification. The team is hopeful for additional qualifications in the four events.
Secretary-General of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Rowing Sports Association (PB PODSI), Edy Suyono, expressed optimism for the team’s success in securing tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics. He highlighted the women’s double sculls as a main focus, hoping they can secure Olympic tickets amidst tough competition from European and American athletes.
