Haddington Athletic’s Dominant Victory Extends Impressive Run in East of Scotland Football League
Haddington Athletic continued their impressive form with a dominant victory over their opponents last weekend, extending their run to just one defeat in their last seven games. The Millfield men put on a commanding display, with goals from Gabri Auriemma and Tom Davies giving them a comfortable lead at halftime.
Davies would go on to score a hat-trick in the second half, with Ross King and Riley Haston also finding the back of the net. Manager Bonar was delighted with the result, which saw his side move back into the top half of the table in the East of Scotland Football League.
Speaking after the game, Bonar praised his team’s performance, stating that they had been threatening to produce such a dominant display in recent matches. He highlighted the importance of scoring at the right times to demoralize their opponents and was pleased with Davies’ four-goal haul.
Despite a promising start to the season with six wins from their opening seven league games, injuries and a small squad have forced Bonar to bring through young players from the club’s under-20s side. However, he remains hopeful of key players returning in the closing weeks of the campaign.
With four league games and a League Cup tie still to play, Bonar is focused on finishing the season strongly. He is particularly looking forward to the upcoming clash with Dunbar United, a team they have been beaten by twice already this season.
As they aim to give a good account of themselves in their remaining fixtures, Haddington Athletic will be hoping to build on their recent success and continue their impressive run of form.
