India Men’s Hockey Team Prepares for FIH Pro League Games in London and Belgium
The India men’s hockey team is gearing up for their next big challenge as they prepare for the FIH Pro League games in London and Belgium. In a bid to fine-tune their skills and rectify any flaws ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Hockey India has announced a 28-member probable core group for the men’s national coaching camp currently underway in Bengaluru.
The team is looking to bounce back from a recent 0-5 defeat to Australia in a five-match Test series Down Under. The coaching camp, which will run until 13 May at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre, will be crucial in preparing the players for the upcoming FIH Pro League matches.
Following the camp, the Indian team will travel to Belgium and London to take on Argentina, Belgium, Germany, and Great Britain in the FIH Pro League. With their sights set on an improved performance, the team is determined to showcase their best form ahead of the Olympics.
Chief coach Craig Fulton expressed his optimism about the upcoming training block, stating, “We have an exciting group of experienced players along with some young players. The tour to Australia has helped us identify areas for improvement, and we are focused on rectifying our shortcomings before the Pro League and the Paris 2024 Olympics.”
The core group of the coaching camp includes a mix of goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards, with a blend of experienced and young talent. The team is eager to make the most of this training opportunity and set themselves up for success in the upcoming competitions.
With the clock ticking down to the Paris Olympics, skipper Harmanpreet Singh has expressed the team’s hunger and readiness to shine on the international stage. As they continue their preparations, all eyes will be on the India men’s hockey team as they aim to make their mark in the FIH Pro League and beyond.
