Indonesian Rowing Team Gears Up for Final Qualifiers for Paris 2024 Olympics
The Indonesian rowing team is gearing up for the final qualifiers for the 2024 Paris Olympics in Luzern, Switzerland, on May 19-21. Coach Okhan Adris expressed confidence in his team’s abilities as they prepare to compete in four categories – LM2X, LW2X, M4-, and M2-.
Adris acknowledged that the upcoming tournament will be challenging, with countries vying for the remaining spots at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Indonesian rower La Memo has already secured a place at the prestigious event following the Olympic qualifications in South Korea.
The Indonesian rowing team has been diligently training in Chungju, South Korea, since April 4 in preparation for the final qualifier next month. The initial team will depart for the Netherlands on April 22 for further training before heading to Switzerland. The Secretary General of the Indonesian Rowing Association, Edy Suyono, is optimistic about the team’s chances and hopes they can secure a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Suyono highlighted the women’s team as a mainstay, expressing confidence in their ability to qualify for the Olympics. In the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Indonesia was represented by Mutiara Rahma Putri and Melani Putri in the women’s lightweight double sculls event.
