Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Power Hitting Stuns Sachin Tendulkar: Three Totals of 260-Plus in IPL 2024
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s power hitting has taken the Indian Premier League by storm this season, with the team achieving three totals of 260-plus, a feat that even left batting legend Sachin Tendulkar surprised.
In a recent post on a microblogging website, Tendulkar expressed his astonishment at Sunrisers’ ability to surpass the 260-run mark thrice in this season alone. He praised the team for their outstanding performance in a recent match against Delhi Capitals, where they outclassed their opponents in both batting and bowling departments.
Batting first, Sunrisers got off to a flying start as Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma orchestrated a blistering century partnership in just five overs, setting a new world record for the fastest team hundred. The team amassed 125 runs in the powerplay, the highest ever in T20 cricket history, with a flurry of boundaries and sixes.
Head’s scintillating 89 off 32 balls and Sharma’s quickfire 46 off 12 balls set the stage for Shahbaz Ahmed to finish with an unbeaten 59 off 29 balls, propelling Sunrisers to a formidable total of 266 for 7.
In response, Delhi Capitals showed promise initially but faltered under the pressure of the massive target set by Sunrisers. Despite valiant efforts from Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel, who put on a thrilling partnership, Delhi fell short by 67 runs.
Sunrisers’ pacer T Natarajan stood out with figures of 4 for 19, while DC spinner Kuldeep Yadav also took four wickets but conceded 55 runs in the high-scoring encounter.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s dominant performance in both batting and bowling has made them a force to be reckoned with in this season of the IPL, and they will be looking to carry this momentum forward in the upcoming matches.
