Williamsport Falls to Liberty 10-5 in High School Baseball Game

In a tough matchup against Liberty, the Williamsport Millionaires fell short, losing 10-5 in front of their home crowd on Saturday. Despite some strong offensive plays early on, the team struggled to extended periods of consistency, ultimately succumbing to errors in the field and on the mound.

The game started off with promise, as starting pitcher Wyatt Bair found himself in a tight spot in the second inning but couldn’t quite close it out, allowing Liberty to take a 4-0 lead. The Millionaires fought back, cutting the deficit to 5-3, but a series of errors in the fourth inning set them back once again.

Head coach Kyle Schneider acknowledged the team’s youth and inexperience, particularly on the pitching staff, but emphasized the need for mental adjustments moving forward. The defensive lapses proved costly, with multiple throwing errors giving Liberty extra opportunities to extend their lead.

Offensively, Williamsport showed flashes of potential, with standout performances from Tariq Moore and Kellen Jackson. Jackson even managed to hit a seventh-inning homer, the first on the team’s new turf field, providing a bright spot in an otherwise challenging game.

As the team looks ahead to their next matchup against Shamokin, Schneider remains confident in their talent and ability to turn things around. With a focus on improving their mental approach and minimizing errors, the Millionaires aim to bounce back and finish the season strong.
