“Dates and Details Announced for Ireland’s Biggest Cycling Event, Rás Tailteann 2024”
The countdown is on for Ireland’s biggest cycling event, Rás Tailteann, as the starting date has been officially set for Wednesday, May 22nd. Cyclists from Ireland and around the world will gather to compete in the 69th edition of this prestigious race, which will run until Sunday, May 26th.
This year’s event will kick off from Tullamore, co. Offaly, in Ireland’s Midlands, with the first stage finishing in Kilmallock, co. Limerick. This marks the first time a stage will finish in the County Limerick town, adding an exciting new element to the race.
The 2024 edition of Rás Tailteann will also feature finishes in Sneem, County Kerry, Cahir, County Tipperary, and Kildare Town, County Kildare. With almost 800km of Irish roads to cover and eighteen categorised climbs over the five stages, this year’s race promises to be a challenging and thrilling experience for all participants.
Teams from around the world, including New York-based ‘Team Good Guys Racing’ and Ride Revolution Coaching from the UK, will be competing in this year’s Rás Tailteann. Team Good Guys Racing leader Cormac Daly expressed his excitement about the upcoming race, stating, “It is such a privilege to bring our team to Ireland to compete in The Rás Tailteann again this year. We will be putting in a huge effort before May to be as competitive as possible with our young squad.”
