Navy Gymnast Ian Dinmore Wins Elite 90 Award for Academic Excellence

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ian Dinmore, a standout senior member of the Navy Gymnastics team, has once again been honored with the prestigious Elite 90 Award at the 2024 NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championship. This marks the second consecutive year that Dinmore has received this exclusive award, showcasing his exceptional dedication both on and off the mat.

Dinmore, a chemistry major at the Naval Academy, boasts an impressive 4.00 GPA for his studies in Annapolis. Hailing from Odenton, Maryland, Dinmore was presented with the award during the pre-championship banquet at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. The Elite 90 Award, founded by the NCAA, recognizes student-athletes who excel in both their sport and academics, making Dinmore a true embodiment of the student-athlete ideal.

In addition to his academic achievements, Dinmore has also excelled in the gym, competing in six meets for the Mids in 2024. Most recently, he achieved a season-high score of 13.6 on the floor exercise and 12.2 on the pommel horse at the ECAC Championship in Springfield, Massachusetts. With his sights set on the NCAA Championship Qualifying Meet, Dinmore is poised to make a significant impact for Navy.

Off the mat, Dinmore’s accolades continue to pile up. As a Trident Scholar and future U.S. Navy Medical Corps member, he has distinguished himself as a top student in the Naval Academy’s Class of 2024. His flawless GPA ranks first in Academic Order of Merit, showcasing his commitment to excellence in all aspects of his academic and athletic career.

Dinmore’s recognition as an Elite 90 Award recipient solidifies his status as a true role model for student-athletes across the country.
