Texas Second Eight Named Big 12 Boat of the Week

The Texas Rowing Second Eight continues to make waves as they were named the Big 12 Boat of the Week for the second consecutive week. Their impressive performance at No. 9 Michigan solidified their spot as one of the top crews in the nation.

Led by sophomore coxswain Amy Werner, the Texas II Eight showcased their talent and determination as they crossed the finish line well ahead of their competition. Despite challenging conditions on the 2,000-meter course, the Longhorns maintained their composure and secured a convincing victory over the Wolverines.

What makes this achievement even more remarkable is the fact that the majority of the crew consists of underclassmen, with freshmen and sophomores stepping up to the challenge and delivering exceptional results. Their ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances and excel under pressure speaks volumes about their potential and bodes well for the future of Texas Rowing.

Looking ahead, the Longhorns are gearing up to host the Longhorn Invite, where they will face tough competition from defending NCAA Champion Stanford, ACC powerhouse Virginia, and Big Ten stalwart Ohio State. With such formidable opponents on the horizon, Texas will need to bring their A-game to continue their winning streak and solidify their status as a force to be reckoned with in collegiate rowing.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on the Texas Rowing Second Eight as they aim to build on their recent success and make a statement on the national stage. With their talent, determination, and unwavering team spirit, the Longhorns are poised to achieve great things and leave a lasting legacy in the world of collegiate rowing.
