Greeley West baseball team bounces back with a dominant win over Thornton
After a tough two-game losing streak, the Greeley West baseball team came out swinging in a big way, defeating Thornton 34-2 in just four innings. The Spartans put on an offensive clinic, scoring in every inning and out-hitting Thornton 20-3.
Junior Luke Ramirez led the charge for Greeley West, going 3 for 4 with four RBI, four runs, and a triple. Six other players also contributed with three RBI each. Senior Jacob Flores held it down on the mound, pitching a solid game and allowing just one earned run on three hits while striking out four.
The Spartans wasted no time taking control of the game, scoring 13 runs in the first inning and adding another 14 in the fourth to seal the victory. With this win, Greeley West improved to 3-9 overall and showed that they are a force to be reckoned with in the league.
In other baseball action, Roosevelt continued their winning ways with a 13-3 victory over Frederick, while Highland dominated Yuma with a 16-0 win in just four innings. The Rough Riders and the Huskies both showcased their offensive prowess and pitching strength, solidifying their positions in the league standings.
