PGA Tour Sensation Maverick McNealy Poised to Surpass Greg Norman in Wealth Stakes, Eyes Second-Richest Golfer Title
PGA Tour sensation Maverick McNealy is on the brink of becoming one of the wealthiest golfers in the world, potentially surpassing LIV Golf’s Greg Norman in the wealth stakes. Despite earning a modest £7million from his golfing career so far, McNealy is in line for a share of a staggering £1billion inheritance, positioning him as potentially the second-richest golfer ever, behind only Tiger Woods.
The 28-year-old pro, who turned professional in 2017, is still chasing his first tour victory but could soon outstrip LIV Golf chief Norman’s fortune. Norman, with an estimated net worth just below Woods, might be overtaken by world No. 100 McNealy, who will be sharing his windfall with his three golf-loving brothers: Dakota, Colt, and Scout.
McNealy, who has matched Woods’ Stanford 18-hole record and earned his PGA Tour card, has climbed to a personal best ranking of 57 and secured two second-place finishes. Despite his success on the course, The Masters has remained elusive for him.
The young golfer credits his strong work ethic to his father Scott, who instilled a sense of self-reliance in his children. McNealy revealed that he and his brothers were never given an allowance and were expected to find a job after college, emphasizing the value of hard work and commitment.
In addition to his golfing talents, McNealy is also a licensed pilot, showcasing his aviation skills in a PGA Tour video last year. He described obtaining his pilot’s license as one of the most rewarding experiences of his life.
McNealy, along with his sponsors, is giving back to his father’s non-profit organization, Curriki, by donating £16 for every birdie he scores. The family’s estimated net worth of £800m continues to support the free online education service, highlighting McNealy’s commitment to giving back to the community.
